Are you living with joint pain that limits how you move—and quietly shrinks your world?
Does pain keep you from activities you love, disrupt your sleep, or make even simple tasks feel exhausting?
I know how isolating and discouraging chronic joint pain can be—because I live with it too.
Pain doesn’t just affect your joints.
It drains your energy.
It dulls your joy.
It makes sleep harder, work harder, relationships harder.
Pain can quietly lead to depression— and into a downward spiral: less movement → more stiffness → more pain → more withdrawal.
And climbing out of that spiral can feel impossible.
You are not weak for feeling this way.
And you are not alone.
I know that downward spiral. I was living it.
Then the inner witness I had cultivated through decades of practice spoke clearly:
“You don’t want to go there. You have tools.”
Tools — plural.
Have you tried physical therapy but found it repetitive, hard to fit into your day, discouraging—or even painful?
Or maybe you’ve tried yoga classes where the postures felt inaccessible, where you left feeling defeated instead of supported.
The old way says: Push through pain.
This is a different approach.
What if movement actually felt good again?
This is not just another yoga class. It is designed specifically for people living with joint pain. No previous yoga experience is required.
Rather than pushing the body toward idealized postures, this program focuses on gentle, intelligent movement, breath, and awareness to reduce pain, improve mobility, and calm the nervous system. Each element of the program is designed to meet you where you are—on any given day.
It combines scientific pain research, yoga philosophy and practices to help improve your pain and reduce suffering.
At the end of this course you will have a set of personalized practices you can use throughout your day to decrease pain, and improve your well being.
Course includes:
Weekly live-streamed classes.
Each class introduces joint-friendly yoga flows that gradually build strength, mobility, and confidence—without forcing or strain. All classes are recorded and available for replay throughout the full six weeks, so you can practice at your own pace.
Weekly videos on pain science, yoga philosophy and lifestyle modifications to help decrease pain.
A library of short therapeutic flows
These brief practices are designed to fit your life. You can use them throughout the day to address specific areas of discomfort—neck, shoulders, back, hips, knees, hands, or feet—whenever pain or stiffness arises.
Breathing and meditation
Chronic pain affects the nervous system, not just the joints. These practices help calm the stress response, reduce pain perception, and most importantly reduce suffering.
Yoga Nidra (Guided Relaxation)
Pain can make it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. This guided meditation helps you relax, release pain, and drift toward sleep.
This is yoga as a complete therapeutic system. Not just movement — but tools for your body, your nervous system, your mind, and your sleep.
Support Along the Way
You won’t be doing this alone.
You’ll have access to a private Facebook group, where you can:
This community aspect helps reduce isolation and supports consistency—both essential for meaningful change.
Receive a personalized daily practice to help you achieve your wellness goals.
These time-tested, evidence-based practices are accessible to all those suffering with joint pain— regardless of physical ability or disability.
If you are living with joint pain, I invite you to join me. Together, we explore how to flow through joint pain with greater ease, clarity, and less suffering.
This course is not designed for all forms of chronic pain, nor for every medical condition.
Chronic pain can be complex and deeply layered, often requiring individualized, one-on-one care — which I also offer when appropriate.
Flowing Through Painis is intentionally focused on joint pain, particularly arthritis and joint recovery, where shared patterns allow people to safely learn and practice together.
“Easy, gentle, relaxing - no pressure or competition. Three sessions in and my daily back pain reduced 90-100%. Highly recommend it.” Pam W.
“Becoming a virtual member of TriYoga Boston has been life-changing. After three months of classes on Zoom, my back pain has melted away while I’ve been safe at home. No visits to the chiropractor or physical therapist needed! I am amazed.” Helen F.
“Discovering TriYoga has made a world of difference in my physical well being which of course positively impacts the rest of me. Had unexplained leg pain as well as back issues. It’s been almost 2 years now and once a week yoga has healed these problems. I considered an allopathic route and shudder now to think what havoc that would have meant for my body. I am so grateful.” Joanna S.
“I have been going to TriYoga Boston for nearly 5 years and I can genuinely say it has changed my life. Physical Therapy had done what it would to return mobility to an arm broken near the shoulder. TriYoga stretching and exercises have completed the rehabilitation. Hip and joint problems are a thing of the past.” John D.
“Very centering and relaxing. Miraculously good for the back and strengthening.” Nonna O.
“TriYoga has improved my wellbeing tremendously.” Stephanie S.

Long before I was diagnosed with arthritis in multiple joints, pain was already a constant presence in my life.
For nearly two decades, I lived with chronic lower back pain. My wrists hurt so badly I wore braces for seven years. An unsuccessful surgery left me worse off than before. I had been practicing yoga for 17 years and found it helped my back pain. But my practice was focused on asana attainment - building toward a specific posture through progressive strengthening and stretching.
Then everything changed in a most unexpected place.
In the attic of a small spiritual bookstore, during an ordinary yoga class, the instructor cued us to visualize light traveling up the spine. In that moment, I felt a flash of energy spiral up my spine and out through the crown of my head. I had never experienced anything like it before. I left that class deeply motivated to understand what I had experienced.
The instructor handed me two books. I consumed them both in a kind of amazement — not just at what I was reading, but at the realization that this energy existed, that others had experienced it, and that I had somehow missed it entirely in 17 years of yoga practice.
I knew I needed a master teacher to guide me through these new revelations.
The following week, a flyer arrived for a conference marking the 100th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda bringing yoga to the West. Nearly every major yoga teacher and spiritual leader in the country would be there. It felt less like coincidence and more like an answer. I didn't hesitate.
At that conference in the Poconos, I met Yogini Kaliji, the founder of TriYoga. During her mudra class, the same energy moved through me again. I had found my teacher.
A month later she was teaching a workshop thirty minutes from my home — a remarkable “coincidence”, since she lived in California. After the workshop, I told her I had felt the energy flow and asked who would be teaching TriYoga in my area. Her answer stopped me cold: "You will."
It seemed impossible. It was 1993. I had two young children and a demanding career in high tech. And yet, within that same year, I was invited to speak at three computer conferences in California — each one coinciding exactly with a TriYoga teacher training.
Call it coincidence, call it something more — the timing was impossible to ignore.
I found the TriYoga flows transformative. When I started TriYoga, my wrists were so weak and painful I couldn’t lift a juice bottle or open a door and my back hurt all the time. But slowly, systematically, I strengthened, realigned, and healed.
I have now been practicing yoga for 50 years, teaching for over 40 years, and training teachers for over 30 years. I am currently flowing through multiple joint issues, and extremely grateful for the practices that help minimize suffering.
My passion and purpose is to help others reduce suffering and live more joyful and fulfilling lives.
I am a Yoga Therapist and E-RYT 500. I have worked with hundreds of yoga students and yoga therapy clients who have healed their back pain, reduced chronic joint pain, started sleeping better, eating better, and feeling better.
