Free the Spine Class
For Back Sufferers
Mondays 7:30 am
Wednesdays 6:15 pm
According to the NIH, 8 out of 10 people have back pain at some point during their lives, and at any given time 30% of the population is suffering from back pain. Research has shown yoga is effective for managing and curing back pain.
This class is appropriate for those suffering with back pain. If you have suffered a serious back condition you must be cleared by your doctor to participate. Guidance on modifications for different conditions is provided. Yoga for back pain includes stretching and strengthening, including a focus on core strengthening. Yoga practices increase alignment awareness. Optimal alignment is critical to maintaining overall health and alleviating back pain.
Class is taught by Brahmi, who has been practicing yoga for 41 years, teaching for 32 years, and TriYoga for 24 years. She is a senior TriYoga instructor and Teacher Trainer. Brahmi is the director and lead teacher for the RYS 200 Hr. TriYoga Teacher Training program and the RYS 300 Hr. Therapeutic Teacher Training program. Brahmi is also a former back sufferer of over 30 years and now enjoys a pain free back.

Here’s what our students have to say:
I attended the “Free the Spine” class with Brahmi Gold-Bernstein and I honestly think that if I attend regularly, I can effectively tackle my back pain. I feel like a million bucks today. My back pain is noticeably relieved and I even feel a little taller. Wow. I will be back! Nancy A.
Wednesday evening is the Free the Back class, and I love it! Brahmi is a wonderful teacher, very clear with her instructions and willing to take time to work with you and make modifications if you have any limitations. The classes have greatly improved my core strength, flexibility and posture, and I don’t get the lower back pain and sciatica I’ve had in the past. And, what’s equally important, I like going to class!
Easy, gentle, relaxing — no pressure or competition. Three sessions in and my daily back pain is reduced 90-100%. Very reasonably priced — lots of options, both for classes and payments, including first class free, half price for first package, and varying prices depending on how many sessions you want to commit to in advance. Very clean and friendly. Highly recommend. Pam W. (Google Reviews)
Have been going to TriYoga Boston for nearly 5 years and I can genuinely say it has changed my life. Physical therapy had done what it could to return mobility to an arm broken near the shoulder; TriYoga stretching and exercises have completed the rehabilitation. Hip and joint problems are a thing of the past. The instructors are patient and thorough and attentive and the entire practice is well run in a very inviting setting. I’ve tried other yoga studios and this is by far the most appropriate one for me. John D. (Google Reviews)
